• Ralph Jones is a very talented composer, educator and performing artist. He holds a Master’s degree in African American Studies (Ethnomusicology Emphasis) and a B.A. in Ethnomusicology, both from UCLA. He has also played with a lot of legendary musicians in Detroit, including Marcus Belgrave and Wendell Harrison. Marty Fischhoff interviews fellow Cass Tech alumni, Ralph Jones about his story.

• Carr Center & Co.act Detroit: Co.act Detroit is helping non-profits meet their missions by awarding 1.4 million dollars in grants thought it’s new Activate Fund. One of the recipients is Detroit’s Carr Center, which works to preserve African American cultural traditions. One Detroit’s Chris Jordan spoke with Oliver Ragsdale, President of the Carr Center and Allandra Bulger, Executive Director of Co.act Detroit to find out more.
