One Detroit Managing Editor, Christy McDonald, spoke with Dr. Howard Markel, Director of the Center for the History of Medicine at the University of Michigan, and author of “When Germs Travel” about the historical context of pandemics, and where COVID-19 fits in that dialogue. Dr. Markel talks about what we can compare COVID-19 to, the sweet spot of reaction, and how the pandemic could change how we react globally.
