List of Upcoming Events:

• The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers hosts a Black History Month event with the theme “CRT: Betrayal and Trust” at the Southfield Pavilion.
• The Detroit Opera premieres Angelin Preljocaj’s new take on the timeless ballet “Swan Lake.”
• Detroit’s Queen of the Blues Thornetta Davis hosts two nights of laughin’, cryin’, and lovin’ at the Carr Center.
• Detroit Book City brings back its annual African American Family Book Expo another year at the People’s Community Church.
• The Meadowbrook Theatre pays tribute to musical greats like Bessie Smith, Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer and Harold Arlen with “Blues in the Night.”
• Pontiac’s Little Art Theater presents the Straight Ahead Jazz Quartet, the first all-woman jazz group signed to Atlantic Records.
• Jazz musicians Stacey “Hotwaxx” Hale and Jenn Lafemme will perform at Spot Lite Detroit.
• British saxophonist Jess Gillam performs the world premiere of Shostakovich’s Fifth Symphony & Saxophone Concerto at Orchestra Hall.
