One Detroit Weekend: Fourth of July

Fourth of July weekend is finally here and there are plenty of events and activities to enjoy over the holiday weekend. The city of Commerce kicks off its summer concert series, the Royal Oak Outdoor Art Fair returns and there are cars and coffee at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac.  

Plus, there’s a host of live performances to check out, such as The Beach Boys, Kidz Bop Live and a Tchaikovsky Spectacular. Watch “One Detroit Weekend” with contributors Dave Wagner and Cecelia Sharpe of 90.9 WRCJ to see what else is coming up in and around Detroit this weekend.

Upcoming Events: 

  • The Commerce Summer Concert Series kicks off July 5 and runs through August 2 at the Richardson Community Center.  
  • Candela Detroit in Southwest Detroit hosts a Salsa and Bachata Night on July 6 featuring a performance by Armando Vega Y Su Orquesta. 
  • The 3rd annual Light Up Livernois fashion, art and design festival takes place July 6 at the Livernois Merchant Corridor between Six and Eight Mile Roads in Detroit. 
  • The M1 Concourse in Pontiac hosts Cars and Coffee: Antique, Vintage & Classics on July 6. The event is free to the public. 
  • The Royal Oak Outdoor Art Fair returns to Memorial Park in Royal Oak July 6-7. The fair features ceramics, collages, drawings and a variety of other art forms.  
  • The Beach Boys bring their Endless Summer Gold tour with special guest John Stamos to the Meadow Brook Amphitheatre in Rochester Hills on July 5.  
  • Live Nation brings the Kidz Bop Live 2024 tour to Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston on July 6. 
  • The Detroit Symphony Orchestra hosts a Tchaikovsky Spectacular on July 7 at Orchestra Hall.
